Our History

IAEG was formed in 2011 by 11 member companies with executives and experts on ESG collectively sharing best practices and creating innovative solutions to address industry challenges and provide voluntary consensus standards. 

It is a not-for-profit trade association formed in Delaware, USA, and today represents the vast majority of aerospace and defense manufacturers globally.

Driving Towards a Sustainable Aerospace and Defense Industry

The International Aerospace Environmental Group is where our global aerospace and defense community unites to turn complex sustainability challenges into collective momentum.

Our neutral, compliance-protected forum brings together engineers, procurement leads, sustainability strategists, and small and medium enterprises to collaborate on voluntary tools that work across companies, tiers, and continents.

The result is practical innovation: first-of-kind greenhouse gas (GHG) calculators, materials-risk maps, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) compatibility studies, and scorecards that scale because they’re created by the very people who use them. And we measure progress in real numbers – downloads, adoptions, regulations de-risked, and suppliers newly engaged – proving that when our sector builds solutions together, sustainability moves from aspiration to industry standard.
